TMM, Inc. Announces TRUPIX Video Scaling Software
June 16, 2015
TMM, Inc. (PINKSHEETS: TMMI) ("TMMI" or "the Company") is pleased to announce the introduction of TRUPIX™ VIDEO SCALER, a unique resolution-conversion tool that enables a user to permanently up-scale digital video or individual frames at up to four times its original resolution and outputs raw digital video and/or raw frames.
TRUPIX™ converts video in popular codecs from lower resolution digital video to higher resolution. Users will be able select 2x, 3x and 4x scaling with no loss in visual quality compared to the original video. TRUPIX™ allows existing content in SD to be converted to HD or UHD; or HD and UHD content to 8k and beyond.
The Company has recently filed a provisional patent application for the product as well as registered the trademark name "TRUPIX" with the USPTO.
"This could be a game-changer for the professional film-makers, post-production houses, video editors and video archive holders who are looking for 4k content to meet the demands of the market without sacrificing the integrity of the original," said Gerard V. Cavanaugh, President of TMMI. "Since TRUPIX can be used to upscale full motion video or individual frames, it will make workflow decisions easier, more efficient and more economical."
At the core of TRUPIX technology is a proprietary video-scaling algorithm for which the Company recently filed a provisional patent application.
"The immediate commercial opportunity for TRUPIX is in 2x, 3x and 4x scaling," said Cavanaugh. "As demand for higher resolution video evolves, the TRUPIX scaling algorithm will be readily available for scaling video to 8K and greater."
TMMI's research lab continues to explore new ways to create disruptive breakthroughs in digital video technology as part of an essential infrastructure for content development, analysis and delivery. The TMMI engineering team continues to develop customizable image processing solutions for entertainment, scientific, education, medical, gaming, industrial and defense users.
ON BEHALF OF THE TMMI BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF TMM, INC.:
